On 21 December 2023, employers’ associations TLN and VVT reached an agreement with the FNV trade union on the 2024 CAO Beroepsgoederenvervoer (CBA for professional goods transport).
These are the most important changes for employers and employees in professional goods transport in 2024.
- As of 1 January 2024, gross wages (scales A to H) and gross allowances will be increased by 4%. As of July 1, 2024, gross wages (scales A to H) and gross allowances will be increased by 2%.
- Accommodation costs will increase by a maximum of 4% as of January 1, 2024 and by 2% as of July 1, 2024, as will be determined in the agreement that TLN will conclude with the Tax Authorities.
- Pay scale A and step 0 for pay scales A to H will disappear from the CAO Beroepsgoederenvervoer as of January 1, 2024.
- The waiting day in case of illness will be abolished as of January 1, 2024.
- It is permitted to grant a higher allowance for one-day trips, instead of the (standard) allowance of 19% on the hourly wage for working hours between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
The CAO Beroepsgoederenvervoer is a standard CAO. This means that employers may not deviate from this. Not to the detriment of employees, and not to the advantage of employers. By making it possible to grant a higher allowance for one-day trips, an exception will be made on this point.
